national day
today is national day, a chinese holiday celebrating the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949. this holiday is serious business- i have 10 days off (well, really only 5 working days but with the crazy schedules that the chinese come up with for the holidays it is appropriate to also count the weekends as days off). to celebrate the day i decided to go on a seaside walk that offers some of the best views in dalian. there is so much construction happening along the road though that i don't think it will feel so beautiful for much longer. at any rate, i will stand as one with the chinese today and show my national pride
