perceptions of the japanese

since i've been back, a few people have asked me about the chinese people's perceptions of the japanese people. well, here is something that has been floating around QQ lately, the chinese version of AIM.

basically, the list goes through a bunch of positive words, and says when you put them all together, you get a chinese person, and then goes through a bunch of negative words, and says when you put them all together, you get a japanese person. ouch!

then it says to send this out to make chinese people proud...!

so...yeah, relations may still be a little strained.

  1. Hello Victoria! Are you still there? Can you still receive these comments?

I would like to ask your opinion if you have time to help me (a woman from Finland) since you have worked in many schools in Dalian and perhaps you already have some short of idea about the names and locations of the schools.

I've seen a job ad last week but it immediately disappeared from the website and now the same ad is there again. Do you think it's a real official ad for Mygym English training centre in Olympic Square or is this some fake job where somebody is trying to get a hold of foreign passport information and photos to make fake passports? It's quite difficult to find any info about this school in Google. Don't even know the real Chinese name. And I've seen this person make a lot of other English teaching job posts in many websites with the same phone number. Is this person a labor broker like someone who is helping several schools to find English teachers and gets some fee for finding employees? Like Unemployment Center? Or what are these ads about? Can these kind of ads be trusted? Other ad says private teaching and freelance. Do I dare to send my CV with my address, phone number, date of birth, photo etc. just to anyone? Have you heard of My Gym English Training Center at Olympic Square? There must be so many private evening schools in Dalian.

  2. Hello! I have not used my blog lately, I'm very sorry for not seeing your question. Did you find a job in Dalian? I can give you the information for the company I worked for if you still are interested in teaching there.
